Beginner - Part 3 (units 5 & 6)

Learn NZSL (New Zealand Sign Language) online via MySign!

Join our fully interactive online NZSL class taught by a qualified teacher! 8-weeks course starts on Tuesday, 26th March from 6.30pm to 7.30pm. This course is suitable for students who have completed approximately 16 hours of NZSL online or Beginners 1b onsite.

Dates: 26/3, 2/4, 9/4, 16/4, 23/4, 30/4, 7/5 and 14/5

Course fee:  $140 for the full 8-week class, incl. weekly e-handouts/homework

Level: NZSL Beginner - Part 3 (Level 1, Unit 5 and Unit 6)

Teacher: Janine Campbell

By the end of the course, learners will cover the following topics:

Unit 5 - Everyday activities

• communicate about simple home and leisure daily routines and activities
• express feelings about activities
• use calendar and clock time phrases
• wrap up activities, review, final activity and/or event

Unit 6 - Small Talk

• start conversations with known and unknown people
• make compliments (e.g. appearance, clothing) and congratulations
• ask and tell about general wellbeing, health and everyday life
• discuss the weather
• close a conversation

Important Notes:

• Registering online secures your spot in the course. A minimum number of students is required; if not met, the course may be postponed or cancelled. Please review our cancellation policy.
• All you need is a computer/laptop with a webcam and internet connection. Please note that tablets and mobiles are not recommended for online learning.
• After registration, you'll receive a confirmation email with the Zoom link for the course. Check your spam folder if you don't see it.
• A Certificate of Attendance will be issued upon meeting 80% attendance (6 out of 8 classes).
• Funding from Employers: Consider approaching your employer for professional development funding. If your organisation is covering the course fee, please email us with their Reference/Purchase Order number (mysign@mergenz.co.nz).
