NZSL Club: Looking Ahead
Merge NZ is excited to support opportunities for people to come together, practise NZSL and connect with their local Deaf community.
Since June 2025, more than 250 participants have joined NZSL Club sessions across three locations.
Since NZSL Club began in Auckland in 2021, we are proud to have supported local NZSL Clubs in 12 cities. Together, these clubs have delivered 88 sessions and reached more than 590 people.
We have now completed our NZSL Club survey and are carefully reviewing the responses. Your feedback will help us decide what the next NZSL Club opportunities may look like in different communities.
Who’s invited?
Everyone! Whether you are a beginner, a fluent signer, or simply curious about NZSL, NZSL Club aims to be a welcoming and supportive space where people can learn, practise and connect at their own pace.

We will continue adding local NZSL Clubs to our website, so you can contact the local organiser and join a club near you.

Will There Be NZSL Clubs in Other Towns?
We hope to expand NZSL Clubs to more towns in the future. If you're interested in having a club in your area, please register your interest. New clubs can be established if there are passionate individuals willing to lead them!
If there is an NZSL Club already established in your area that is not listed on our website, please contact us.
For a small fee, we can offer you support and resources.
