Beginner - Part 3 (units 5 & 6)

Learn NZSL (New Zealand Sign Language) online via MySign!

Join our fully interactive online NZSL class taught by a qualified teacher! This 8-week course is suitable for students who have completed Beginners 1b onsite or approximately 16 hours of NZSL online.

Course detail:

Level/units: NZSL Beginner - Part 3 (Level 1, Unit 5 & Unit 6)

Duration: Every Tuesday for 8 weeks - 4/6, 11/6, 18/6, 25/6, 2/7, 9/7, 16/7 and 23/7

Course fee:  $140 incl. weekly e-handouts/homework

What You'll Learn:

Unit 5 - Everyday activities

• communicate about simple home and leisure daily routines and activities
• express feelings about activities
• use calendar and clock time phrases
• wrap up activities, review, final activity and/or event

Unit 6 - Small Talk

• start conversations with known and unknown people
• make compliments (e.g. appearance, clothing) and congratulations
• ask and tell about general wellbeing, health and everyday life
• discuss the weather
• close a conversation

Important Notes:

• Registering online secures your spot in the course. A minimum number of students is required; if not met, the course may be postponed or cancelled. Please review our cancellation policy.
• All you need is a computer/laptop with a webcam and internet connection. Please note that tablets and mobiles are not recommended for online learning.
• After registration, you'll receive a confirmation email with the Zoom link for the course. Check your spam folder if you don't see it.
• A Certificate of Attendance will be issued upon meeting 80% attendance (6 out of 8 classes).
• Funding from Employers: Consider approaching your employer for professional development funding. If your organisation is covering the course fee, please email us with their Reference/Purchase Order number (mysign @ mergenz.co.nz).
