NZSL Course - Auckland (Whangaparaoa) - Beg 1b

Join and learn New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) course in Auckland, Whangaparaoa!

NZSL is a beautiful language, and an official language of NZ. This is a NZSL Beginner 1b course - suitable for students who have completed Beginner 1a course. The course will be delivered through blended learning. In this arrangement, you will attend onsite classes with other participants, and the tutor will teach virtually with an onsite facilitator to support your learning. Certificate of Attendance and will be issued at the end of the course*.

Days: Tuesdays, 7.30pm to 9pm

Dates: Tuesdays 25/7, 1/8, 8/8, 15/8, 22/8, 29/8 (6 Weeks)

Level: NZSL Beg 1b (Unit 3 - 4)

Cost: $120 for 6-week course incl. handout/homework

Learning outcomes:

By the end of this 1b course, learners will learn :

Unit 3 - Needs and Wants

• name common food and drink items
• make and respond to requests and offers for basic wants and needs
• ask and tell locations of familiar objects and locations in the immediate environment
• express likes and dislikes
• understand basic signs about emergency exit procedures

Unit 4 - Family and Friends

• tell about immediate family/whanau and relationships (e.g. friends, colleagues)
• give and ask personal information about self and others such as where our lives and their pets
• use numbers for counting, age, ranking

*Certificate of Attendance are on request and with 80% attendance being meet. Please note that registering online confirms your place in the course. Minimum number of students applies - if minimum numbers are not meet course may be postponed or cancelled. Please read our cancellation policy.
