About The Course
Learn NZSL (New Zealand Sign Language) online via MySign!
Join our fully interactive online NZSL class taught by a qualified teacher! This 8-week course is suitable for students who have completed Beginners 1b onsite or approximately 16 hours of NZSL online (NZSL Beginner - part 2).
Course detail:
Level/units: NZSL Beginner - Part 3 (Level 1, Units 5 & 6)
Duration: Every Monday for 8 weeks - 12/8, 19/8, 26/8, 2/9, 9/9, 16/9, 23/9 and 30/9
Course fee: Â $140 incl. electronic handouts and homework

What You'll Learn:
Unit 5 - Everyday activities
- communicate about simple home and leisure daily routines and activities
- express feelings about activities
- use calendar and clock time phrases
- wrap up activities, review, final activity and/or event
Unit 6 - Small Talk
- start conversations with known and unknown people
- make compliments (e.g. appearance, clothing) and congratulations
- ask and tell about general wellbeing, health and everyday life
- discuss the weather
- close a conversation
Important Notes:
- Registering online secures your spot in the course. A minimum number of students is required; if not met, the course may be postponed or cancelled. Please review our cancellation policy.
- All you need is a computer/laptop with a webcam and internet connection. Please note that tablets and mobiles are not recommended for online learning.
- After registration, you'll receive a confirmation email with the Zoom link for the course. Check your spam folder if you don't see it.
- A Certificate of Attendance will be issued upon meeting 80% attendance (6 out of 8 classes).
- Funding from Employers: Consider approaching your employer for professional development funding. If your organisation is covering the course fee, please email us with their Reference/Purchase Order number (mysign@mergenz.co.nz).
