Join our immersive online NZSL course via MySign and experience interactive learning with a certified NZSL teacher! This course is perfect for students who have completed the Intermediate (Part 3) online or Level 2c onsite (approximately 70 hours of NZSL tuition).

Course Outline:

• Level: NZSL Intermediate - Part 4 (Level 2, Units 16 & 17)
• Duration: Every Monday for 8 weeks - 2/9, 9/9, 16/9, 23/9, 30/9, 7/10, 14/10 and 21/10
• Course fee: $160 incl. electronic handouts & homework
• Teacher: Victoria Lessing

What You'll Learn:

Unit 16 - Our Country

• Report and discuss key demographic facts about New Zealand
• Explain and contrast everyday rituals/events in your culture
• Describe and recount experiences related to New Zealand outdoor activities (e.g. camping, boating)

Unit 17 - Travel and Destinations

• Describe and contrast information about NZ and overseas travel destinations (e.g. Geographical environment, attractions, activities, costs)
• Narrate personal experiences with travel‐related incidents (e.g. Delays, natural disasters, illnesses or mishaps)
• Negotiate tasks for planning a trip (e.g. Dates, itinerary, booking travel and accommodation, packing)

Important Notes:

• Registering online secures your spot in the course. A minimum number of students is required; if not met, the course may be postponed or cancelled.

• All you need is a computer/laptop with a webcam and internet connection. Please note that tablets, chromebook and mobiles are not recommended.
• A Certificate of Attendance will be issued upon meeting 80% attendance (6 out of 8 classes).
• Funding from Employers: Consider approaching your employer for professional development funding. If your organisation is covering the course fee, please email us with their Reference/Purchase Order number (mysign@mergenz.co.nz).
