NZSL Course - Papamoa - 2d

Join and learn New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) course at Papamoa!

NZSL is a beautiful language, and an official language of NZ. This is suitable for students who has completed intermediate 2c course. Certificate of Attendance will be issued at the end of the course.

Day : Tuesday, 7.00pm to 9.00pm

Dates : 18th October to 6th December 2022 (8 Weeks)

Level : Intermediate 2d (Unit 16 and 17)

Cost : $170 for 8 weeks course including handout/homework.

Learning outcomes :

By the end of this 2d course (Term 4), learners will :

Unit 16 - Our Country

• report and discuss key demographic facts about New Zealand
• explain and contrast an everyday ritual/event in your culture
• describe and recount experiences about New Zealand outdoor activities (e.g. camping, boating)

Unit 17 - Travel and destinations

• describe and contrast information about NZ and overseas travel destinations (e.g. geographical environment, attractions, activities, costs)
• narrate personal experiences with travel-related incidents (e.g. delays, natural disasters, illnesses or mishaps)
• negotiate tasks for planning a trip (e.g. dates, itinerary, booking travel and accommodation, packing)

If you have any connection to a deaf/hard of hearing child/ren, please inform us as there is funding for families to learn NZSL for free of charge. Please become member of Deaf Children NZ first so you can register to this course for free of charge.

Minimum number of students applies - if minimum numbers are not meet course may be postponed or cancelled.
