NZSL Week is celebrated by New Zealanders each year in the first full week of May. This was established following the NZSL Act being recognised as an official language in 2006. Merge NZ is involved in the NZSL Week celebrations and you are invited to get involved too!

Deaf Deaf World event in Tauranga, Bay of Plenty

Come to meet other local NZSL students. A great opportunity to become immersed in the Deaf world to understand what it is like to be Deaf person in a hearing world. It’s a well designed event where roles are reversed and NZSL tutors are "shop keepers".

This event is highly recommended for parents and/or teachers working with Deaf children and work colleagues of Deaf people to come and have a positive and eye-opening experience.
